On the same night as this week’s Gen44 launch event in New York, Boston held its own Gen44 kickoff party — a packed house and full of energy! Special guests Mike Ross, President of the Boston City Council, Sonia Chang-Diaz, Massachusetts State Senator, and Sam Yoon, former Boston Mayoral Candidate and City Councilor mingled with the crowd and showed their support for Gen44. Noah Shaw, Gen44 Boston Chair, and John Spears, Massachusetts Organizing for America State Director, talked about the plan for 2010 and how to make sure we’re successful in November.
Prior to the main party, a group of leaders and the event’s special guests held a round table, moderated by Gen44 Boston Chair Noah Shaw, to discuss the future of Massachusetts politics. The invigorating conversation reemphasized to everyone in attendance the importance of organizing, commitment and of talking to neighbors and friends about the issues that catapulted President Obama into office one year ago.
Given the foundation laid in Boston by this Kickoff Party, the Boston chapter of Gen44 will continue to grow and hold events, and it will serve as an important tool for the DNC and Organizing for America for the elections in November 2010 and beyond.

The President’s speech will be on all major television networks, and streamed live at WhiteHouse.gov and BarackObama.com.
